Did I miss a few days?
Wait, what day is it?
WHOA! It would appear I've missed a few YEARS! Holy cow.
Well, I'll get back on the horse. First, I'd better start addressing these posts to Kat and Gabe, as Gabe is now well old enough to read them. Second, I'd better start addressing these posts to Kat, Gabe, and Jill, since Jill is now the age Gabe was when I last posted! Good grief!
Kat, tomorrow you'll dance on the field at half-time, and that marks a pretty remarkable recovery from a pretty serious knee inconvenience earlier this year. Well done you! The doc is half the equation, and the work you've put in is the other half. Looks like you did well on both halves, and that is pretty exciting for me.
Gabe, you might well be going up to Austin for your game this weekend, and that's on the back of a report card full of A's and B's! Impressive! You've worked hard for both, and you've earned your success. I'm proud of you.
Jill, you know all of the car logos, you have a blue raindrop, and you can sing all the songs from Frozen. You are on your way to becoming a real princess, or whatever it is you decide to set your sights on. Plus, you've got a big brother and a big sister who love you. You are a lucky girl.
Pretty wordy for a first post, and no pictures. We'll see if I can improve.

The Red Devils
Kat and Gabe!
I know that the previous post was about football, but at this time of year, a lot happens in the football world. This week's big event: the red devils of Manchester United have been crowned kings of England, just as AC Milan won the Italian league last week.
This means that Manchester United have now won the English league more than any other team, and that they will be insufferable for some time.
Well, at least for a week or so, because coming up in just a few weeks is something really big! A game so huge, more people will be watching it than watch the Super Bowl: The Champion's League Final! Manchester United, the best team in England, will play Barcelona, the best team in the world!
Now, y'all know I like to root for the underdog, but root for Man U? I'm not sure I can do that. Y'all will have to help me decide who we'll root for, and we'll watch the game together.
OK, enough football. Kat: I hope you had a good time at camp this weekend! I am eager to hear about the swimming and the frolicking and all that. Gabe: if you've already seen Thor, then get ready to see it again! I am excited about going to see that movie with y'all. Maybe we can even talk Papa Bob into going with us.
I could tell that Jillian was very excited to see y'all on Friday last week. She thinks she is hot stuff now as she can lean against furniture and move herself around the edge of a room. You'll have to come see. She sure does look up to you two.
I know I said I was done talking football, but I wanted to leave y'all with one other story. Do y'all remember when "Big Ibra" endeared himself to his fellow team mates by karate-kicking one of the other players in the head? And, do y'all remember how we wondered how Big Ibra and Cassano could play on the same team without causing a massive drama overdose?
Well, I couldn't have written a crazier story than this: last week, upon winning the Italian league, the AC Milan squad celebrated out on the pitch in front of their fans. All of the cameras were on them, and the reporters were waiting to interview them. So, naturally, as you do, Ibra commenced his celebrations in his own special way by, you guessed it, kicking none other than Antonio Cassano right in the head. Right in front of the whole world, on a very special day, Ibra did what he does best: something crazy. When the reporter interviewed Cassano, he had an ice bag on his head!
Dearie me. I would have laughed had it been any team but ours.
Well, that is all for me tonight. I sure have missed y'all this weekend, and am looking forward to seeing you both on Thursday.
I love you guys,
Your Favorite Dad

Forza Milan!
Hello, Kat and Gabe!
It is official (or very nearly)! AC Milan are champions of Italy. Winning the Italian league is called a "Scudetto", and Milan haven't won one in six years, but it looks like we have done now.
"Who else performed well this week?" you ask. Well, it just so happens that the Milan team aren't the only one who can really cover some ground! None other than Kat Cooley contrived to run an entire mile in just over NINE MINUTES! That is fantastic! I don't even like to drive that fast!
Next stop: just under nine minutes! That will give us something to shoot for.
Also of note this week, this guy has officially come to town:
We'll have to go see this fellow down at the theater, and decide for ourselves if he's as heroic as Hercules. It looks like he smooches Darth Vader's girl friend in the movie, so he does have that going for him!
I have missed y'all this weekend, but was very glad mom let y'all stay over on Thursday and Friday night. We sure had fun playing with Jillian, didn't we?
I love you guys, and can't wait to see what exciting happenings will make it into our next blog entry.
Love,
Your favorite dad.

Easter, 2011
Kat, it has been over a year since I posted on this blog. It will not be much of a reminder if I only post on an annual basis, so I'll have to do better.
It is Easter, 2011, and you and Gabe are off to Alice with your mom. I suspect y'all will have a lot of fun. We went out to Mr. Joey and Mrs. Hayley's house. The Padre was there, as was Mr. Larry and Mrs. Rose. There were hamburgers and hot dogs to eat, and an egg hunt as well.
Jillian got to put her feet in the grass, and she thought it was really neat!

What I thought was really neat was how Mr. Joey's grass is all green, and ours is more a shade of brown. We'll have to figure out why that is next time y'all are over, and fix up our shed as well.
I hope your trip to Alice was fabulous, and I am looking forward to seeing y'all this Thursday.
Love,
Your dad

BRRRR!
Now granted, we didn't see any of these over the last few days:

But, it has been mighty cold! This is the coldest it has been since the two of you were knee-high to a grasshopper, Kat and Gabe!! It was 17 degrees yesterday!!
That is getting near the temperatures of your homeland, Kathleen, up in the great white north!
Well, let's all hunker down, stay warm, and I'll see y'all on Thursday.
Love,
Your favorite dad
