The Red Devils

Kat and Gabe!

I know that the previous post was about football, but at this time of year, a lot happens in the football world.  This week's big event:  the red devils of Manchester United have been crowned kings of England, just as AC Milan won the Italian league last week.

This means that Manchester United have now won the English league more than any other team, and that they will be insufferable for some time.

Well, at least for a week or so, because coming up in just a few weeks is something really big!  A game so huge, more people will be watching it than watch the Super Bowl:  The Champion's League Final!  Manchester United, the best team in England, will play Barcelona, the best team in the world!

Now, y'all know I like to root for the underdog, but root for Man U?  I'm not sure I can do that.  Y'all will have to help me decide who we'll root for, and we'll watch the game together.

OK, enough football.  Kat:  I hope you had a good time at camp this weekend!  I am eager to hear about the swimming and the frolicking and all that.  Gabe:  if you've already seen Thor, then get ready to see it again!  I am excited about going to see that movie with y'all.  Maybe we can even talk Papa Bob into going with us.

I could tell that Jillian was very excited to see y'all on Friday last week.  She thinks she is hot stuff now as she can lean against furniture and move herself around the edge of a room.  You'll have to come see.  She sure does look up to you two.

I know I said I was done talking football, but I wanted to leave y'all with one other story.  Do y'all remember when "Big Ibra" endeared himself to his fellow team mates by karate-kicking one of the other players in the head?  And, do y'all remember how we wondered how Big Ibra and Cassano could play on the same team without causing a massive drama overdose?

Well, I couldn't have written a crazier story than this:  last week, upon winning the Italian league, the AC Milan squad celebrated out on the pitch in front of their fans.  All of the cameras were on them, and the reporters were waiting to interview them.  So, naturally, as you do, Ibra commenced his celebrations in his own special way by, you guessed it, kicking none other than Antonio Cassano right in the head.  Right in front of the whole world, on a very special day, Ibra did what he does best:  something crazy.  When the reporter interviewed Cassano, he had an ice bag on his head!

Dearie me.  I would have laughed had it been any team but ours.

Well, that is all for me tonight.  I sure have missed y'all this weekend, and am looking forward to seeing you both on Thursday.

I love you guys,

Your Favorite Dad
